I am writing to ask if you
can give any information re the death of Pte C.D. Harris
33719 13th Com C.I.B N.Z.E.F as he is a nephew of
mine. I shall be so grateful to receive any particulars
concerning him.

To Mr J. Cock
Your nephew PrivateHarris was
killed on October 4th by shell fire, he was a stretcher
bearer and at time of his decease was with our Battalion
Chaplain and other stretcher bearers, all of whom were
killed.
He was buried by the Wellington Battalion
Chaplain on Abraham Heights. His comrades in his platoon
speak very highly of him and he was killed while doing
his duty.
