Charles Upham Memorial
Outside Hurunui District Council Carters Road Amberley,
New Zealand
On the 22 April
2015 a Field of Remembrance was created in front of the Charles
Upham Memorial. The crosses displaying the names of sixty-four
men from Amberley, Leithfield, Broomfield, Balcairn, Omihi,
Greta Valley, Waipara and Glenmark who served and fought for
our nation during World War One and who made the ultimate sacrifice.
The name of each man was called and a cross for him placed
in the ground by local school children. The cross for Charles
Harris was presented by Ben and Emily Harris, decendants of
Charles and Emma Harris.
